Independent registered charity representing and supporting students across sister organisations in the Northwest is seeking an interim Finance Director. The role involves working in a key position within a transition to a shared services environment, overseeing central finance operations and supporting the COO with management accounts, VAT, budgeting, forecasting and balance sheet management.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the central finance function, including production of management accounts, VAT filings, budgeting and forecasting, and balance sheet management.
  • Liaise with external auditors to ensure compliance with tight timelines.
  • Provide board-level reporting and collaborate with executive leadership teams.

Qualifications

  • Fully qualified accountant (CIPFA/ACA/CIMA/ACCA).
  • Experience leading small finance teams and managing management accounts, balance sheet duties, budgeting, forecasting and VAT.
  • Proven ability to work in an SME environment and collaborate with senior leadership.
