Our client, an established software group working across energy, AI, and technology-led industries, is looking for a strong C# Software Developer who can demonstrate a consistent track record of delivering complex, long-term projects aligned to the kind of work their teams undertake. This is an opportunity to join a collaborative engineering environment where you will help design, build, and enhance scalable cloud-based applications used by both growing startups and established global organisations. The successful candidate must have hands‑on experience working on ongoing energy industry projects and be able to demonstrate delivery across enterprise‑scale or business‑critical platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance applications using ASP.NET MVC and C#
- Deliver scalable, secure, cloud‑based solutions within energy‑focused environments
- Work with Postgres and Azure SQL to optimise database performance and structure
- Build and maintain serverless applications using Azure Functions
- Support and improve CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps
- Collaborate closely with senior developers, DevOps engineers, QA teams, and stakeholders
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Contribute to architectural discussions and technical decision‑making
- Work across long‑term, continuous delivery projects with evolving client requirements
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong background in ASP.NET MVC and C#
- Proven experience delivering projects within the energy sector
- Evidence of working on ongoing, business‑critical software projects similar to enterprise delivery environments
- Strong experience with Postgres and/or Azure SQL
- Experience with Azure cloud services, including Azure Functions
- Solid understanding of CI/CD processes, ideally using Azure DevOps
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to work effectively within Agile development teams
Desirable / Nice‑to‑Have Skills
- Experience with Azure App Services and Azure Service Bus
- Experience working within Agile environments (Scrum/Kanban)
- Knowledge of front‑end technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Experience working on data‑heavy or operational systems within utilities or infrastructure sectors
