An established and growing contractor specialising in social housing maintenance and planned works is seeking an experienced Managing or Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their Yorkshire team. This key commercial role offers long‑term stability, progression and the opportunity to influence commercial performance across multiple contracts.
You will play a pivotal part in managing cost control, procurement and commercial risk across responsive maintenance, voids, cyclical maintenance and planned works frameworks.
Key Responsibilities- Commercial management of social housing maintenance contracts across Yorkshire
- Preparation and management of budgets, forecasts, CVRs and final accounts
- Valuation of subcontractor works and management of payment processes
- Variations, change control and commercial risk management
- Overseeing procurement strategies and subcontractor performance
- Supporting, mentoring and line‑managing Quantity Surveyors (Managing QS level)
- Working closely with operational teams and clients to maximise value and margin
- Ensuring strong governance, compliance and accurate commercial reporting
- Proven experience as a Senior or Managing Quantity Surveyor
- Strong background in social housing maintenance, repairs, voids or planned works
- Commercially astute with excellent cost control and negotiation skills
- Confident managing multiple workstreams and client relationships
- Ideally qualified (or working towards) HNC / HND / Degree in Quantity Surveying
- Strong communicator with the ability to work collaboratively across teams
- £50,000 – £70,000 salary (depending on level and experience)
- Permanent role with a secure, well‑established contractor
