GSL are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher of Design & Technology (Food Technology) to join a thriving secondary school from September 2026. This is a full-time, permanent position within a highly successful academy, offering the opportunity to teach across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will be part of a strong and supportive Technology faculty, working collaboratively with experienced colleagues to deliver high-quality lessons that inspire and challenge students.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons in Design & Technology, with a focus on Food Technology
  • Teach across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
  • Assess, monitor, and track student progress in line with school policies
  • Differentiating learning to meet the needs of all students, including those with SEN
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour and academic achievement
  • Contribute to curriculum development and departmental planning
  • Take on a pastoral role as a form tutor, supporting student wellbeing and development
  • Engage in extracurricular activities and wider school life
Qualifications and Skills
  • Degree in Design & Technology or a related subject
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for teaching
  • Ability to plan and deliver high-quality, inclusive lessons
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Commitment to continuous professional development
  • ECTs and experienced teachers are both encouraged to apply
