We are supporting a manufacturing organisation in the appointment of a Maintenance Electrician to join its site-based engineering team in Croydon. This is a hands-on role focused on the maintenance, fault finding and repair of site electrical infrastructure, including building services and power distribution systems. The role also provides support to production equipment and machinery when required. This position would suit a commercial or industrial electrician looking to develop their experience within a manufacturing environment.

Role responsibilities:

  • Maintain, fault-find and repair site electrical systems including lighting, panels, circuits, power distribution and emergency systems
  • Carry out routine inspections, testing and planned maintenance activities
  • Support with electrical faults on manufacturing equipment when required
  • Assist with wiring, testing and commissioning of new or upgraded machinery
  • Complete scheduled preventive maintenance and accurately record work via CMMS or maintenance systems
  • Identify opportunities to improve reliability and reduce downtime
  • Support site upgrades, facility improvements and electrical projects
  • Work closely with engineering, maintenance and production teams, as well as external contractors
  • Follow safe systems of work and ensure all activities meet required safety and compliance standards

Candidate requirements:

  • Fully qualified Electrician with AM2 (or equivalent)
  • Recognised electrical apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent)
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
  • Experience within commercial, industrial or manufacturing environments
  • Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics
  • Confident fault-finding and working independently

Desirable:

  • Experience within manufacturing or continuous production environments
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic or hydraulic systems
  • Exposure to control systems, PLC wiring, VFDs or sensors
  • Experience using CMMS systems
