Salary: £70,347 per annum

Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

Shifts: Shifts including nights

Training: 2 months at CAF Chester (fully expensed)

The Opportunity

Ford & Stanley are partnering with CAF, a global leader in the rail industry, to recruit a Team Leader for their expanding Machynlleth depot. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer who is ready to step into leadership, or for an existing Team Leader looking for long-term progression within an international organisation.

The Role

  • Coordinate and supervise a team of Technicians to ensure safe, efficient and high-quality production output.

Key responsibilities:

  • Leading, mentoring and supporting a team of Technicians
  • Overseeing daily production activities and ensuring targets are met
  • Allocating work, monitoring performance and maintaining standards
  • Providing technical guidance and hands-on support where required
  • Ensuring compliance with safety procedures and engineering processes
  • Acting as the link between engineering teams, operations and management
  • Supporting continuous improvement and reliability initiatives

About You

We are looking for a technically strong engineer with proven experience in heavy engineering environments, ideally with one of the following backgrounds:

  • Mechanical or electrical engineering
  • Diesel engine maintenance
  • Marine, HGV, bus, automotive or industrial environments
  • PLC, HVAC or electrical diagnostics experience

You will also bring:

  • Experience supervising or mentoring colleagues (formal or informal)
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • The ambition to progress into higher leadership roles within CAF
  • A proactive mindset, taking ownership of issues and resolving them quickly

Additionally you will have a minimum Level 3 engineering qualification.

Training

Your first two months will be spent at CAF Chester, with all travel and living expenses fully covered.
