Eden Brown Synergy are currently looking for an experienced Senior Child Protection Conference Chair to join the safeguarding service for London Borough of Barking and Dagenham.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Chairing Child Protection Conferences and ensuring effective safeguarding plans are implemented for children and families.
- Providing independent scrutiny and challenge to ensure high standards of safeguarding practice.
- Reviewing risk assessments, plans, and multi-agency interventions to ensure children's needs are appropriately addressed.
- Ensuring conferences are conducted in line with statutory guidance, legislation, and departmental procedures.
- Working collaboratively with Social Workers, managers, education, health, police, and legal professionals.
- Escalating safeguarding concerns and identifying areas requiring service improvement.
- Supporting quality assurance processes, audits, and performance monitoring within children's services.
- Promoting child-focused practice and ensuring the voice of the child remains central to decision-making.
Working Pattern: Hybrid working
Pay Rate: Up to £50 p/h Umbrella
Essential Requirements:
- Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
- Social Work England Registration
- Previous experience chairing Child Protection Conferences
- Strong knowledge of Child Protection procedures, safeguarding legislation, and statutory guidance
- Experience working within frontline children's safeguarding services
- Excellent communication, chairing, and multi-agency working skills
