Hounslow, West London (borough-wide street cleansing routes)

Working Hours:

  • Monday to Friday
  • 07:00 - 16:00 (9-hour shifts)
  • 40 hours per week
  • Occasional overtime available
  • Immediate start

Job Overview:

You will operate a Scarab road sweeper / council cleansing vehicle carrying out scheduled street cleansing duties across residential, commercial, and public areas. This is a structured, full-time driving role with immediate availability for suitable candidates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate Scarab sweeper safely on assigned borough routes
  • Clean roads, pavements, estates, and public spaces
  • Remove litter, debris, and fly-tipping waste
  • Dispose of collected waste at designated sites
  • Carry out daily vehicle checks and basic maintenance
  • Report hazards or environmental issues
  • Follow planned council route schedules accurately

Requirements:

  • Full UK driving licence
  • Category C (Class 2 HGV) required
  • Valid Driver CPC qualification
  • Maximum 6 penalty points (clean licence preferred)
  • Ability to start immediately following checks and induction
  • Experience with large vehicles preferred
  • Good reliability and timekeeping

Desirable Experience:

  • Previous council, refuse, or street cleansing work
  • HGV Class 2 driving experience
