An outstanding primary school in Southwark is seeking a qualified primary teacher to join their team on a full-time basis from September, teaching a Year 2 class to cover a maternity leave for the year.

The Role

In this role you will take full responsibility for a Year 2 class, delivering engaging and creative lessons that inspire pupils and support them in reaching their full potential. Pupils demonstrate excellent behaviour and a genuine enthusiasm for learning, creating a positive and inspiring classroom environment, allowing you to focus on high-quality teaching and learning.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging, well-structured lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Assessing, monitoring and tracking pupil progress to ensure strong outcomes for all learners
  • Creating a stimulating, inclusive and supportive classroom environment
  • Differentiating learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including those with additional needs
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across Key Stage 1 to share ideas and best practice
  • Building positive relationships with parents and carers to support pupil development
  • Contributing to the wider life of the school, including events, trips and enrichment activities
