About the School
We are a warm, dedicated primary special school in the borough of Lambeth, supporting children aged 2 to 11 with a wide range of complex needs. Our pupils have severe learning difficulties (SLD), profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), and complex medical needs. Many of our learners are autistic and benefit from consistent, structured, highly individualised teaching approaches.
The Role
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced SEN Teacher to take on a mixed KS1/KS2 class, starting immediately and continuing for the remainder of the academic year. You will be supported by a skilled team including teaching assistants, therapists, and senior leaders committed to outstanding pupil outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver creative, differentiated lessons tailored to a wide range of needs
- Use a variety of communication approaches (e.g. PECS, Makaton, sensory communication)
- Implement EHCP targets and monitor progress closely
- Create a safe, nurturing, and structured learning environment
- Work collaboratively with parents, carers, and multidisciplinary professionals
Requirements
- QTS is essential
- Experience working with SEN, ideally SLD, PMLD, or autism
- Strong communication and behaviour management skills
- A patient, caring, and resilient approach to teaching
