A specialist SEN school in Wandsworth is seeking an experienced and compassionate PMLD Teacher to join their team on a full-time basis. The school supports students with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), complex medical needs, physical disabilities, sensory impairments and Autism. Students require highly personalised learning, therapeutic support and a nurturing, structured environment to support communication, engagement and independence.

This role is ideal for an SEN Teacher with experience supporting students with complex needs and severe learning difficulties within specialist SEND settings.

The Role:

  • Teaching students with PMLD, SLD and complex additional needs
  • Planning and delivering sensory-based and highly differentiated lessons
  • Supporting communication, engagement and life skills development
  • Working closely with therapists, support staff and medical professionals
  • Supporting students with sensory regulation and physical needs
  • Creating a calm, safe and inclusive learning environment
  • Using personalised and multi-sensory teaching approaches

Requirements:

  • QTS / QTLS / ECT
  • Experience within PMLD, SLD or complex needs settings desirable
  • Strong understanding of sensory learning and communication needs
  • Experience supporting students with medical and physical needs desirable
  • PECS / Makaton / Team Teach / Moving and Handling experience desirable
  • Calm, patient and nurturing approach
