Exciting Opportunity: Eden Brown Synergy is seeking an experienced and motivated Occupational Therapist to join our Adult Social Care team. This role is ideal for an OT with extensive local authority social care experience who can work autonomously and manage a complex caseload.
Location: 2 Bristol Avenue, Colindale, London, NW9 4EW
Rate: £39.93 per hour – Hybrid role
Work Pattern: Typically 1-2 days on site, with additional attendance for training and service needs
Contract: Full-time
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct Care Act-compliant comprehensive OT assessments for adults aged 18+ with disabilities
- Apply clinical reasoning to assess risk, promote independence, and support safe outcomes
- Prescribe simple and complex equipment, including completing associated risk assessments
- Complete Manual Handling assessments and provide clear moving and handling recommendations
- Assess for and recommend major adaptations in line with statutory criteria
- Refer for and contribute to Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) processes as appropriate
- Participate in duty triaging on a rota basis, including screening referrals, responding to urgent matters, and prioritising cases
- Maintain accurate, timely, and professional case records
- Work collaboratively with service users, carers, health professionals, housing teams, and partner agencies
Essential Requirements
- Degree/Diploma in Occupational Therapy
- HCPC registration (required)
- Substantial and recent experience in Adult Social Care (local authority setting)
- Proven experience completing Care Act assessments, risk assessments, Manual Handling assessments, and simple/complex equipment provision
- In‐depth knowledge of major adaptation eligibility criteria, Disabled Facilities Grant processes, and equipment provision criteria
- Ability to manage a complex caseload independently
- Available to work full‐time (essential)
