Long Term Futures is seeking a calm, patient and consistent Learning Support Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 4 pupil with ASD and ADHD in a welcoming Islington primary school. The pupil has an EHCP and benefits from a supportive adult who can build trust, provide structure and help them stay engaged in learning. This role is ideal for someone with a steady, grounded presence, who can remain calm under pressure and support emotional regulation throughout the school day.

About the Role

  • Providing dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day
  • Supporting a pupil with ADHD and ASC to maintain focus and engagement
  • Using calm, clear and consistent communication strategies
  • Supporting emotional regulation and helping the pupil manage overwhelm
  • Encouraging positive behaviour through rapport, routine and reinforcement
  • Avoiding overly directive or confrontational approaches, instead using a patient and measured style
  • Supporting learning across the KS2 curriculum

This role requires someone who can offer consistency, resilience and a positive presence, helping the pupil feel secure and supported.
