Our client is seeking a talented and creative Head Pastry Chef to lead the pastry team at a prestigious Central London venue. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a high-end hospitality environment delivering exceptional pastry offerings for both day-to-day service and a wide range of events from intimate gatherings to weddings and large-scale functions.

As Head Pastry Chef, you will oversee the pastry section, creating both classic and contemporary desserts, artisan breads, pastries, and bespoke cakes to an exceptional standard.

Working Hours: 40 hours per week, 5 days out of 7

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the pastry section, overseeing daily kitchen operations
  • Deliver outstanding pastry creations for high-profile events and prestigious occasions
  • Develop innovative and high-quality desserts, pastries, breads, and baked goods
  • Train, mentor, and inspire the pastry team to consistently achieve excellence
  • Work closely with the Head Chef and Hospitality Manager on menu development and event planning
  • Create new recipes and concepts for fine dining and retail-style café offerings
  • Manage stock control, ordering, and kitchen budgets effectively
  • Adapt menus and recipes to accommodate dietary requirements, including gluten-free and sugar-free options

About You:

  • Proven experience in a senior pastry role, ideally within fine dining, luxury hospitality, or a 5-star environment
  • Passionate about pastry, baking, and culinary innovation
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities
  • Highly creative with exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills
  • Relevant pastry or culinary qualifications preferred
  • Experience within high-end contract catering or hospitality environments would be advantageous
