Are you a commercially minded finance professional looking for an opportunity to make a real impact within a growing business? We are looking for an experienced and driven Finance Director to lead and develop the finance function while helping shape the future direction of the business based in North Kent. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who combines strong technical expertise with strategic thinking, leadership capability, and a proactive, hands‑on approach. You will play a key role in driving financial performance, improving processes, strengthening controls, and supporting business growth. The successful candidate will also be passionate about developing teams and modernising finance systems and processes through digitalisation and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all financial operations across the business
  • Manage, mentor, and develop the finance team to achieve high performance
  • Provide strategic financial guidance to support business objectives and growth
  • Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and financial targets
  • Oversee monthly and annual IFRS reporting and statutory accounts preparation
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and compliance
  • Monitor and manage company cash flow and financing activities
  • Lead credit control activities to improve cash collection and minimise risk
  • Develop and maintain effective financial systems, controls, policies, and procedures
  • Drive process improvements and support finance digitalisation initiatives
  • Manage tax compliance and statutory obligations
  • Conduct financial analysis, feasibility studies, and investment evaluations
  • Monitor operational and financial risk across the business
  • Review contracts, supplier agreements, and commercial terms
  • Ensure the business meets all financial and legal obligations
  • Support senior leadership with commercial and strategic decision‑making

About You

You will be a qualified finance professional with strong commercial awareness, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to operate both strategically and operationally.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)
  • Degree in Accounting & Finance, Business, Economics, Mathematics, or a related discipline
  • Previous experience in a FD role or reached the ceiling in your current company as a Senior FC and looking to make the step up to Director level.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and IFRS reporting
  • Experience managing budgets, forecasting, cash flow, and compliance
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills
  • Strong leadership and team development capability
