Overview

You will be joining a well-established organisation operating within the construction industry, managing one of their projects/sites based in North London. The business has a strong operational footprint and is focused on maintaining high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance. They are looking for an HS Manager to start immediately in this 3-month rolling contract role. This is a site-based role, requiring you to be on-site 5 days a week.

Responsibilities

  • Managing day-to-day health, safety and environmental performance on site.
  • Undertaking site inspections, audits and risk assessments.
  • Reviewing and updating RAMS.
  • Investigating incidents and implementing corrective actions.
  • Delivering toolbox talks and safety briefings.
  • Supporting site leadership in continuous HSE improvement.
  • Liaising with regulatory bodies including the HSE and Environment Agency.

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Proven experience in a Health & Safety Manager role within construction or heavy industrial environments.
  • A strong understanding of UK health & safety legislation.
  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate (essential).
  • NEBOSH General Certificate or Diploma.
  • Experience working in operational, UK site-based environments.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • A proactive, practical and solutions-focused approach.
  • Availability to start at short notice.
