Overview
You will be joining a well-established organisation operating within the construction industry, managing one of their projects/sites based in North London. The business has a strong operational footprint and is focused on maintaining high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance. They are looking for an HS Manager to start immediately in this 3-month rolling contract role. This is a site-based role, requiring you to be on-site 5 days a week.
Responsibilities
- Managing day-to-day health, safety and environmental performance on site.
- Undertaking site inspections, audits and risk assessments.
- Reviewing and updating RAMS.
- Investigating incidents and implementing corrective actions.
- Delivering toolbox talks and safety briefings.
- Supporting site leadership in continuous HSE improvement.
- Liaising with regulatory bodies including the HSE and Environment Agency.
What you’ll need to succeed
- Proven experience in a Health & Safety Manager role within construction or heavy industrial environments.
- A strong understanding of UK health & safety legislation.
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate (essential).
- NEBOSH General Certificate or Diploma.
- Experience working in operational, UK site-based environments.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
- A proactive, practical and solutions-focused approach.
- Availability to start at short notice.
