We are looking for a reliable Class 2 driver who is comfortable and willing to carry out manual, physically active highways maintenance work as part of a team.
Working within the Hounslow Borough:
- £17.50 - £18.50 per hour
- Weekly pay
- Monday to Friday – 07:00 – 16:00
- 40 hours per week
- Overtime available
- Immediate start available
This is a hands-on dual-role position combining Class 2 HGV driving with manual highways maintenance duties. You will support road repair and maintenance teams while also operating council or contractor vehicles.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Driving Class 2 vehicles (tippers, sweepers, support trucks)
- Delivering materials and equipment to work sites
- Assisting with manual highways tasks such as:
- Pothole repairs
- Surface patching
- Signage installation
- Barrier setup
- Working safely in live traffic environments
- Carrying out daily vehicle checks
- Following instructions from site supervisors
Requirements:
- Full UK driving licence with Category C (Class 2 entitlement)
- Valid Driver CPC
- Maximum 6 penalty points preferred
- Willingness to carry out manual outdoor labour as part of the role
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
- Good attitude and reliability
- Available for immediate start following checks
Preferred experience:
- Construction, highways, or groundworks experience
- HGV driving experience
- Use of hand tools or small plant equipment
- Team-based outdoor work experience
This is a Class 2 driving and manual labour hybrid role, which is physically active (lifting, digging, site work). PPE provided. Immediate start available for suitable applicants.
