We are looking to employ a Project Engineer to join our engineering team. The role will primarily deliver turnkey packages through concept, design, installation, and commissioning of bespoke machinery and automated systems. This role is ideally suited to an engineer fluent in both English and Polish, supporting projects across the UK and Europe.

The Project Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring the machine packages are compliant and built to the correct technical standards, supporting the installation and commissioning of packages. This position is essential for ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality and safety standards. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative engineering solutions that meet client specifications and enhance operational efficiency.

The successful candidate will work closely with our in-house design team, taking responsibility for project delivery through build support, installation, and commissioning. This role does not require machine design but does require strong engineering knowledge and on-site experience.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and relevant industry standards throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Projects and packages are technically compliant and delivered within budget.
  • Manage/support the installation and commissioning of machinery in accordance with project specifications and timelines, from design handover through to completion.
  • Work closely with the internal design team to understand system requirements and communicate these effectively to all stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Liaise with customers, suppliers, and internal engineering teams.
  • Conduct site assessments and prepare detailed reports on installation progress.
  • Provide multifunctional technical support during installation and commissioning phases.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to team members and stakeholders.
  • Document all processes and maintain accurate records of project activities.
Compliance & Safety Responsibilities (CE Marking / Machinery Directive)
  • Support the safe installation and commissioning of machinery in line with applicable regulations, including the Machinery Directive (2006/42/EC) and UK Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations.
  • Ensure that machinery is installed in accordance with design specifications, with all safety systems, guarding, and interlocks correctly implemented.
  • Assist in verifying and validating safety functions during commissioning, including emergency stops, safety circuits, and protective devices.
  • Identify and report any non-compliance or safety risks observed on-site, supporting corrective actions where required.
  • Contribute to commissioning documentation, test records, and installation reports to support CE marking and technical file requirements.
  • Be aware of and highlight any substantial modifications made during installation that may impact compliance or require re-certification.
Essential Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, or relevant demonstrable experience through other routes.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in delivering turnkey machinery/equipment projects.
  • Ideally worked on project delivery from OEMs.
  • Multilingual, ideally fluent in English and Polish.
  • Minimum of 5 years operating in a Project Engineer or similar engineering role.
  • Practical on-site experience with machinery installation and commissioning experience.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and project management methodologies.
  • Proficient in using engineering software and tools.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical/electrical/process drawings and specifications produced by others.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Willingness for international travel.
