Hays Education is working in partnership with a mainstream primary school in Allerton who are seeking a Level 3 Qualified 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

  • Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND)
  • Supporting the pupil to access the curriculum and engage positively in classroom activities
  • Working closely with the class teacher and SENCo to deliver targets set out within the EHCP, IEP, or individual support plans
  • Planning and adapting learning activities, resources, and teaching strategies to meet individual needs
  • Supporting communication skills, language development, and social interaction
  • Promoting emotional wellbeing, self-regulation, and positive behaviour
  • Encouraging independence, confidence, and sustained engagement in learning
  • Using your Level 3 knowledge and experience to contribute effectively to the wider classroom environment

Qualifications

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
  • Previous experience supporting children with SEND in a mainstream or specialist school setting
