Join a leading Lincoln organisation as a Deputy Payroll Manager in a fast‑paced finance environment. You will report to the Head of Payroll and oversee day‑to‑day payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of payroll services.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and support a small payroll team, allocating workloads effectively, developing team capability, and maintaining high service standards.
  • Provide hands‑on support with payroll processing as required, handle reconciliations and audits, and ensure outputs meet regulatory and organisational requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement by analysing performance data, producing KPIs, and supporting payroll system upgrades and testing.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to deliver a customer‑focused service.

Requirements

  • Substantial payroll experience within a high‑volume setting and strong technical knowledge of payroll legislation and systems.
  • Excellent analytical, organisational and communication skills, with an eye for detail, tight deadline management and a commitment to confidentiality and compliance.
  • CIPP qualification preferred or currently studying for qualification.
  • Prior management experience is advantageous but not essential.
  • Must be based within a commutable distance of Lincoln for hybrid working (2‑3 days a week in the office).
