The Role
You will be responsible for the calibration, inspection and verification of a wide range of precision measuring equipment and gauges, ensuring all instrumentation meets strict quality and compliance standards. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong engineering, metrology or quality background who enjoys working within a precision-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out calibration and inspection of precision measuring equipment
- Recording accurate calibration results and maintaining documentation
- Ensuring all gauges and instrumentation comply with UKAS and quality standards
- Identifying out-of-tolerance equipment and reporting findings
- Supporting quality assurance and continuous improvement activities
- Working to tight tolerances and engineering specifications
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment
Experience Required
Candidates should have experience using and calibrating a range of measuring equipment including:
- Feeler Gauges
- Gap Gauges
- Height Gauges
- Micrometers
- Ring Gauges
- Screw Caliper Gauges
- Vernier Calipers
Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience within calibration, metrology, quality inspection or quality assurance
- Strong understanding of precision measuring equipment
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Good organisational and communication skills
- Experience within automotive, aerospace, manufacturing or engineering environments would be advantageous
