Pertemps are recruiting Ad Hoc Evening Library Advisors for temporary ongoing work across Edinburgh libraries.

Location: Edinburgh - various library locations

Hours of work: Evening shifts (17:00-20:00) offered as required

Pay rate: £14.51 per hour

Duration: Temporary ongoing

Immediate start

A PVG Certificate is required (£59 for a new application or £18 to update an existing certificate).

The Role

  • You will provide ad hoc cover across library branches, supporting daily operations and assisting members of the public.
  • Providing customer service to library users
  • Supporting day-to-day library operations
  • Assisting with council services, including bus pass applications
  • Helping visitors use computers, online services and digital resources
  • Supporting community activities and events
  • Maintaining a welcoming and inclusive environment
