A growing and forward-thinking manufacturing business in the FMCG sector is looking to recruit a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join their on-site engineering team. The Role
As a Maintenance Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and performance of production equipment. Working as part of a small engineering team, you'll be responsible for maintaining machinery, responding to breakdowns, and supporting ongoing improvement projects across the site.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out maintenance on production and site equipment
- Respond quickly and effectively to breakdowns
- Complete PPM schedules to a high standard
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the site
- Assist with installation and commissioning of new machinery
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
- Ensure spare parts are managed and ordered correctly
- Work in line with health, safety, and hygiene standards
- Support maintenance of refrigeration and associated plant
Requirements
Essential
- Multi-skilled engineering background (electrical & mechanical)
- Level 3 qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- Previous experience within FMCG or manufacturing environments
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Comfortable using PC-based maintenance systems
Desirable
- Experience within food manufacturing
- Knowledge of sachet machines, conveyors, or packaging equipment
- HVAC, boilers, or CHP systems experience
- Basic PLC knowledge or programming
- Continuous improvement / lean manufacturing experience
- Project or installation experience
