My client is a well-established and highly respected specialist contractor, and they are looking to recruit a Lead Commercial Combustion Engineer to join their growing team across London. The Role

As a Lead Engineer, you will take ownership of servicing, fault‑finding, and repair of commercial gas systems, while also bringing strong mechanical knowledge to support wider plant room and system issues. This role will suit someone who enjoys getting stuck into complex faults, leading by example, and delivering a high standard of work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Service, maintenance, and repair of commercial gas appliances and systems
  • Fault‑finding and diagnostics across combustion and mechanical plant
  • Working within plant rooms, energy centres, and commercial environments
  • Maintenance and repair of associated mechanical systems including:
    • Pipework
    • Heat exchangers
    • Pumps, valves, and ancillary plant
  • Supporting junior engineers and acting as a technical lead on site
  • Ensuring all works are carried out safely and in line with current regulations
  • Maintaining strong client relationships through high‑quality service delivery

Essential Requirements

  • CODNCO1
  • ICPN1
  • CIGA1
  • CORT1
  • TPCP1 or TPCP1A
  • Proven experience in servicing and repair of commercial gas systems
  • Strong mechanical knowledge, including plant rooms, pipework systems
  • Experience working in commercial environments
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable

  • Experience working in energy centres or district heating environments
  • Previous experience in a lead or senior engineer role
  • Broader building services or mechanical qualifications
  • Clear progression opportunities within the business
