An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Workshop Technician to join a growing subsea services business based in Kintore. This hands-on role is ideal for someone with strong hydraulic and mechanical experience who enjoys working within a fast-paced workshop environment supporting specialist subsea and offshore equipment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the testing, maintenance, assembly, commissioning, modification, and upgrade of a wide range of hydraulic and mechanical equipment, ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities
  • Test, maintain, prepare, modify, and upgrade equipment in line with OEM and company procedures.
  • Complete all workshop documentation accurately and to a high standard.
  • Carry out equipment inspections, fault finding, and repairs.
  • Assist with equipment inventory management and stock control.
  • Ensure workshop areas are maintained in a clean, safe, and organised condition.
  • Operate plant equipment and workshop tools safely and efficiently.
  • Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, and ongoing HSE initiatives.
  • Follow all company procedures relating to quality, health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Undertake any required technical or HSE training relevant to the role.
Essential Experience & Skills
  • Time-served industry experience within a hydraulic or mechanical role.
  • Strong practical knowledge of hydraulic systems, components, and fault diagnosis.
  • Ability to assemble, test, and maintain hydraulic equipment from technical drawings and manuals.
  • Experience maintaining hydraulic and mechanical equipment within workshop, offshore, marine, or agricultural environments.
  • Experience using hand tools and working in workshop settings.
  • Experience working with subsea ROV or diver equipment, including BOP Pumps, ROV Torque Tools, Stanley Diver Tools, and ROV Cleaning & Intervention Tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics and engineering instructions.
  • Basic IT skills including Microsoft Word and Excel.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
  • ONC / HNC / Apprenticeship / City & Guilds qualification in Mechanical, Hydraulic, Agricultural, or Marine Engineering.
  • Experience with Hydraulic Power Units (HPUs), Hydraulic Reelers, Grabs, and Hydraulic Shears.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability with hydraulic systems.
