Pertemps are currently recruiting for a Goods-In Operative to join a forward-thinking technology company based in Yarnton, Kidlington. This is a temporary position with the potential to become a permanent opportunity for the right candidate. The role is full-time, working Monday to Friday on a 37.5-hour week, offering a pay rate of 13.00 per hour. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a modern warehouse and production environment supporting innovative, high-quality products used across a range of industries.
Role Summary
Reporting directly to the Production Manager, the Goods-In Operative will be responsible for overseeing the flow of inventory in and out of the warehouse. Duties will include receiving deliveries, loading and unloading goods, storage management, stock control, and ensuring accurate inventory records are maintained. The role will also involve physical handling of materials and stock, including moving and lifting boxes and components within the warehouse and production areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing inventory of materials and stock products, including stock locations and item profiles.
- Using the company ERP system to accurately record goods received and maintain inventory records.
- Communicating with departmental managers to ensure stock levels are maintained appropriately.
- Assisting with stock counts and inventory checks throughout the year.
- Investigating stock discrepancies and shortages to minimise issues and reduce obsolete stock.
- Following company recycling and waste procedures.
- Receiving and inspecting incoming products to ensure they meet company standards and production requirements.
- Verifying serial tracked products upon receipt.
- Organising and maintaining warehouse storage areas to ensure efficient handling and accessibility.
- Maintaining labelling systems and stock rotation procedures (FIFO).
- Updating databases and processing returned goods information where required.
- Supporting production and dispatch teams by ensuring components and kits are available when needed.
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised warehouse environment.
Required Skills & Experience
- Previous warehouse or goods-in experience preferred.
- Competent in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience using ERP systems would be advantageous, although full training will be provided.
- Ability to work independently and use initiative.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Positive attitude with the ability to work well within a team.
- Flexible and reliable with good timekeeping skills.
- Pedestrian Stacker Licence would be beneficial, or willingness to undertake training.
- Ability to prioritise workloads and work to deadlines.
- Comfortable with manual handling and light lifting duties.
- Good housekeeping skills and commitment to maintaining a tidy work environment.
