We are seeking a detail‑oriented and motivated Junior Associate to join our Operations team in West London. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long‑term career within banking operations and payments processing in a fast‑paced and professional environment. The successful candidate will support the day‑to‑day operational activities of the clearing team, ensuring all processes are completed accurately, within deadlines, and in line with internal controls and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process inward clearing cheques, BACS credit/debit files, and related returns within required cut‑off times
  • Handle outward clearing and rejection entries, ensuring balances and totals reconcile correctly
  • Monitor and process standing order instructions in line with customer requests
  • Process Faster Payment requests, ensuring approvals and signature verification are completed in accordance with policy
  • Check and action stop payments and cancellations related to payment processing
  • Manage debit card reconciliations and investigate related queries
  • Support customer chargeback queries and liaise with relevant payment providers within required timelines
  • Ensure all customer queries are managed efficiently through CRM/RMS systems
  • Reconcile internal accounts and support daily operational controls
  • Liaise with branches and internal departments regarding operational and clearing‑related queries
  • Assist team members to ensure all daily tasks are completed accurately and on time
  • Carry out additional departmental administrative and operational duties as required
Skills & Experience Required
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Experience using Finacle and other banking applications is advantageous
  • Understanding of banking regulations, AML, and KYC procedures
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach to problem‑solving
