The predicted salary is between 25000 - 30000 £ per year.

Hours: Monday to Thursday 7:30am - 4:00pm, Friday 7:30am - 3:00pm. Saturday overtime available 8:00am - 1:00pm.

Pay: £12.71 per hour, overtime paid at x1.5. Temporary role with the potential to become permanent.

We are recruiting for a Yard Operative to join a family‑run wholesale plant specialist based at a 40‑acre site in Manchester, with easy access to the region’s major road networks. Established in 1964, the business has grown to become one of the leading wholesale plant suppliers to landscapers, professional gardeners and garden designers.

This is a hands‑on outdoor role suited to someone who enjoys physical work, working as part of a team, and being outside in all weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Picking and packing plants, shrubs, and trees
  • Unloading large transit vehicles arriving from Europe with full supplier deliveries
  • Planting, digging, and supporting general nursery and yard duties
  • Assisting with stock handling and vehicle loading when required
  • Working efficiently outdoors in all weather conditions, including wind, rain, cold, and heat
  • Supporting the wider team to keep the yard organised, stocked, and running smoothly
About You
  • Comfortable with physically demanding outdoor work in all weather conditions
  • Reliable, hardworking, and able to work well as part of a team
  • Experience in yard, landscaping, or similar outdoor work
  • Forklift truck experience would be helpful, but is not essential
  • A positive attitude and willingness to support different tasks across the site
