The Project Engineer role itself offers you a chance to steer the technical development of innovative suspension solutions for European truck applications. You’ll lead projects from concept to completion, working on component analysis, design optimisation, and customer liaison providing technical guidance and representing your organisation professionally at all stages.

More specifically:

  • Leading product/systems project management from concept through to series production.
  • Performing technical design, analysis, and optimisation of auxiliary axles and suspension systems.
  • Creating and maintaining detailed drawings using Siemens NX CAD and ANSYS FEA software.
  • Carrying out feasibility studies, design reviews, and engineering calculations, including customer site assessments.
  • Acting as the primary technical interface with customers and resolving technical issues with suppliers.
  • Participating in design reviews, DFMA activities, and product risk assessments.
  • Defining part numbers, assembly structures, and selecting proprietary components.
  • Collaborating with testing teams to develop validation plans and support product testing activities.
  • Supporting warranty evaluations due to field failure analysis.
  • Managing documentation such as Product Change Requests and Engineering Change Notes.
  • Ensuring all project documentation complies with IATF 16949 standards.

You will have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Good working knowledge of castings, machining, GD&T, fabrications, and welding processes.
  • Proven project management experience, ideally within an automotive or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings accurately.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively at all organisational levels.
  • Analytical mindset with a creative approach to problem-solving.
  • Excellent CAD and FEA skills, preferably with Siemens NX and ANSYS.
  • Ability to perform fundamental structural calculations confidently.
  • Business-fluent English language skills.
  • Flexibility to travel internationally when required, with a valid UK driving licence.
