About the role:
As a Senior Wellbeing Support Worker, you will be the lead practitioner on shift, overseeing the day‑to‑day operations of the REST Hub service (Recover, Eat, Support, Talk). You will support staff and volunteers, ensure a safe and welcoming environment for service users, and manage service flow and staffing levels. Working hours are 37 per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm. This is a fixed‑term contract until 31st March 2027.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Lead the delivery of the REST Hub service, providing direction and support to staff and volunteers.
- Build positive relationships with individuals accessing the service, offering emotional support including in crisis situations.
- Manage service flow, capacity, and staffing levels, responding dynamically to demand and risk.
- Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed and identify appropriate support pathways.
- Liaise with external professionals such as NHS services and emergency services when required.
- Support staff and volunteer development, including supervision, induction, and ongoing guidance.
- Maintain accurate records, data collection, and reporting in line with data protection requirements.
- Promote a calm, inclusive, and recovery‑focused environment.
- Monitor and maintain a safe, welcoming, and well‑managed site.
- Support ongoing service development in line with organisational policies and objectives.
Qualifications and experience:
- At least 1‑2 years working with adults in a mental health environment.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, risk management, and recovery‑focused support.
- Experience delivering both 1:1 and group support.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to lead within a team and manage competing priorities effectively.
- Confidence supporting staff and volunteers and handling sensitive situations professionally.
- A qualification in mental health (e.g., NVQ Level 3, DipSW, RMN, Counselling or equivalent) is desirable, along with experience managing volunteers or small teams.
- You must be willing to undertake an enhanced Adult’s Barred DBS check.
