We are looking for a skilled, motivated and experienced Rotating Equipment Engineer to join a busy and well‑established service centre team specialising in the repair and overhaul of industrial gearboxes and pumps. This is a hands‑on, technically varied role where you will be at the heart of diagnosing, dismantling, repairing, and reassembling critical rotating equipment. You will play a key part in ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and reliability while working on a wide range of equipment every day. If you enjoy problem‑solving, precision engineering, and working in a practical workshop environment, this is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills and grow within a supportive team.

Job responsibilities:

  • Dismantle, inspect, and reassemble a range of rotating equipment including gearboxes and pumps
  • Produce clear and accurate inspection reports, identifying faults and recommending solutions
  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
  • Use measuring and testing equipment to ensure components meet required tolerances and quality standards
  • Take ownership of your work, ensuring accuracy and high‑quality output with minimal supervision
  • Support day‑to‑day workshop activities, maintaining strong standards across quality, health & safety, and environmental practices
  • Identify faults, troubleshoot issues, and implement effective repair solutions
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by suggesting ways to improve processes and efficiency
  • Respond to urgent repair requirements when needed

Qualifications:

  • Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent hands‑on experience
  • Strong working knowledge of rotating equipment, particularly gearboxes and/or pumps
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering data
  • Experience using precision measuring and testing equipment
  • A proactive, problem‑solving mindset with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • A strong commitment to safety, quality, and best practice
