Torridge District Council is looking for an experienced Interim Principal Accountant to support the Finance team in delivering effective financial management services across the Council. The role will involve budget monitoring, financial reporting, supporting annual accounts, and working closely with managers and auditors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support budget monitoring and forecasting
  • Assist with annual accounts and financial reporting

Essential Requirements

  • CCAB qualified accountant
  • Strong accountancy and financial management background

  • Strong Microsoft Excel and Office skills
  • Ability to interpret financial information and legislation

Desirable

  • CIPFA qualification
  • Local Government finance experience
  • Experience with annual accounts and budget management
