Duties of the Vehicle Technician
- Accurately diagnose and repair motor vehicles, ensuring all work is completed to high standards
- Conduct vehicle servicing, including routine maintenance and complex repairs such as cambelts and timing chains
- Carry out mechanical and electrical work with minimal supervision
- Record materials used and time spent on repairs efficiently
- Road test vehicles to ensure repair quality and safety compliance
- Complete diagnostics, fault finding, and ensure all work meets company standards
Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Mechanics and the ability to produce certification
- Proven experience as a Diagnostic Vehicle Technician (post apprenticeship)
- Full UK driving licence and own set of tools
- Ability to perform a wide range of mechanical and electrical tasks, from basic servicing to advanced diagnostics
- Demonstrable high skill level in fault diagnosis, repair, and vehicle maintenance
