Aka Recruitment are excited to be working with a great family run business in Huddersfield to bring you this MOT Tester role. Working hours are Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5pm with no weekend work, salary basic can go up to £19 per hour (£41k).
Job Duties Include:
- Perform comprehensive MOT tests on vehicles (Class 4, 7, etc.) in strict accordance with DVSA manual standards to ensure roadworthiness.
- Use the MOT Testing Service (MTS) to digitally log test results, issue certificates, and clearly document any advisory notices or failure points.
- Take responsibility for the testing bay, ensuring all diagnostic tools, brake rollers, and emission gas analyzers are calibrated and functional.
- Translate complex mechanical failures into plain English for customers, providing honest advice on necessary repairs and future maintenance.
- Maintain valid DVSA Tester status by completing annual CPD (Continuous Professional Development) and passing the annual assessment to ensure the garage remains compliant.
Requirements:
- Qualified at Level 3 (NVQ or City and Guilds).
- Own tools.
- Full Licence with no more than 6 points.
- MOT Testing Licence is advantageous.
