Are you passionate about nurturing young minds and making a difference in the early stages of a child's educational journey? Look no further! We are seeking an EY/Year 1 Teaching Assistant to join our friendly team in Huddersfield. You will play an essential role in supporting the learning and development of children aged 2-5 years in a vibrant and active learning environment. You will work closely with the class teacher to support the delivery of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Year 1 curriculum. You will help create a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment that promotes learning and personal development.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivering engaging learning activities that support the class.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and nurturing environment.
- Observe and track children's progress, reporting on their development to the class teacher.
- Support children with their social, emotional, and physical development.
- Assist with classroom management, ensuring the learning environment is tidy, well-organized, and conducive to learning.
- Work collaboratively with other staff members, parents, and external professionals.
- Encourage positive behaviour and support children in developing good social skills and self-regulation.
Key Requirements
- A passion for working with young children and a genuine interest in early childhood development.
- A relevant qualification in childcare or education (Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent) is desirable.
- Enhanced DBS (We can help you process this certificate).
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths at grade C or above.
