The Opportunity
As HR Manager, you will play a key role in developing and implementing effective HR policies, processes, and people initiatives that support both employees and wider business goals. Working across multiple sites, you'll be the go-to HR expert, building strong relationships and providing practical guidance to managers at all levels. Key Responsibilities
- Employee Relations & HR Operations
- Lead on employee relations matters including disciplinaries, grievances, absence management, and performance issues
- Ensure HR policies, procedures, and the employee handbook remain compliant and up to date
- Provide professional HR advice and support to managers and employees across all sites
- Drive HR initiatives and continuous improvement projects
- Analyse exit interview trends to support retention and recruitment strategies
- Promote a fair, consistent, and positive employee experience throughout the business
- Recruitment, Training & Development
- Manage the full recruitment and onboarding process
- Support managers with interviewing, selection, and workforce planning
- Coordinate contracts, employee documentation, and HR records
- Assist with appraisal systems, succession planning, and development pathways
- Identify training needs and coordinate learning and development activities
- Coach and support managers to strengthen people management capability
- Health & Safety Support
- Promote a positive Health & Safety culture across all locations
- Support compliance with Health & Safety legislation and company procedures
- Coordinate inductions, training records, and refresher training
- Assist with accident investigations and wellbeing initiatives
- Monitor absence trends and support workplace welfare practices
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in a generalist HR role, ideally at HR Manager level
- Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
- Confident managing employee relations casework independently
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Highly organised with a proactive and solutions-focused mindset
- Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- CIPD qualification (or working towards) would be advantageous
