Marks Consulting Partners are currently looking for a Housing Officer to work with one of our Housing Association clients in London.
What the Job Will Be Doing
- Delivering a high-quality housing management service across a patch of properties
- Managing tenancy and estate management issues, ensuring residents receive an effective and customer-focused service
- Carrying out regular estate and block inspections, identifying repairs, health & safety concerns and environmental issues
- Managing anti-social behaviour cases, safeguarding concerns, fly-tipping and tenancy breaches
- Supporting void and lettings processes to minimise turnaround times and maximise occupancy
- Working proactively to improve income collection and reduce rent arrears
- Investigating tenancy issues and preparing documentation for legal action and court where required
- Building strong relationships with residents, resident associations, local authorities and external partners
- Supporting vulnerable residents and signposting to relevant support agencies where appropriate
- Ensuring residents are actively engaged in decisions affecting their communities
- Maintaining accurate records and updating housing management systems
- Working collaboratively with internal teams, contractors and multi-agency partners to deliver excellent housing services
What You Will Need
- Experience working within housing management or a similar customer-facing housing role
- Good understanding of housing legislation, tenancy management and landlord responsibilities
- Experience handling ASB, tenancy breaches and resident complaints
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to manage a varied workload and work independently
- Experience supporting vulnerable residents and working with partner agencies
- Strong IT and case management skills
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
