Apex resources is seeking a professional HGV Class 2 Driver for a temporary assignment for our client in Livingston. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating a curtainsider lorry to deliver goods efficiently across the UK. Applicants should possess a valid HGV Class 2 licence and have prior experience in commercial driving and delivery operations. Cover dates are from Thursday 7th May to Friday 15th May. Potential for ongoing cooperation with Apex resources and our clients.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate HGV Class 2 vehicle in compliance with all legal and company regulations
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to ensure timely completion of all scheduled deliveries
- Load and unload goods, ensuring proper securing of cargo during transit
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any faults or issues promptly
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and obtain necessary signatures upon completion of deliveries
- Adhere to all health and safety policies, including safe driving practices and load handling procedures
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and warehouse teams regarding delivery schedules or delays
- Ensure the vehicle is kept clean and well-maintained throughout shifts
Skills:
- Valid HGV Class 2 licence with a clean driving record
- Proven experience as a commercial driver
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for commercial driving
- Excellent organisational skills to manage schedules efficiently
- Ability to handle physical tasks associated with loading/unloading cargo safely
- Good communication skills for liaising with clients, dispatchers, and team members
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism
Nights away may be required, for which you will get extra pay.
