The Recruitment Crowd are currently recruiting Class 1 (C&E Drivers) on behalf of EVRi Hub, Barnsley.

Hours: Choose your own days of work and start times by providing a 2-hour window from 10PM - 2AM. Please note you must be able to provide availability on a Friday, Saturday OR Sunday (This does not mean you will be working one of these days every week).

Pay Rates: (PAYE 6AM onwards): Monday to Friday £16.21, Saturday £17.87 & Sunday £18.20; (PAYE 2PM onwards): Monday to Friday £16.87, Saturday £18.29, Sunday £18.61; (PAYE 10PM onwards): Monday to Friday £17.59, Saturday £20.69 & Sunday £21.96.

Location: Barnsley, S74.

Job Type: Ongoing.

The role:

  • Trunking between depots, ensuring timely and safe delivery of parcels.
  • Reversing in the yard and manoeuvring vehicles with precision.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle, ensuring roadworthiness and compliance with company standards.
  • Adhere to all relevant traffic laws, regulations, and company policies to maintain a high level of safety on the road.
  • Effectively communicate with dispatch and logistics teams to ensure timely deliveries and pickups.

Requirements:

  • 1 years' experience required. However, we do have other opportunities for drivers with limited experience.
  • Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (category C+E).
  • Valid and in date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
  • No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only).
  • Successful completion of assessment, including theory element which is two questionnaires based on drivers' hours and road laws and a practical element which will be based on yard reversing and a short driving test.
  • Full understanding of WTD legislation.
  • A safety-first mindset.
