A leading engineering organisation within the defence sector is seeking a hands-on EMC engineer to support the validation and certification of advanced systems. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on complex, high-integrity products, ensuring they perform reliably in challenging electromagnetic environments. You will play a key role across the full test lifecycle from early-stage development through to qualification and certification.
What You ll Be Doing:
- Plan, design and execute system-level test activities
- Develop test setups, including instrumentation and data capture methods
- Prepare and support trials, ensuring readiness across hardware, software and facilities
- Coordinate test activities, including logistics and equipment availability
- Carry out hands-on testing in specialist environments (e.g. EMC chambers)
- Capture, analyse and interpret test data
- Produce clear technical reports and documentation
- Support product certification activities
- Collaborate with engineering teams and test facilities
What We re Looking For:
- Experience in EMC, RF testing or electronic systems validation
- A hands-on approach with a passion for practical engineering and testing
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to plan, execute and document technical work methodically
- Confident communicator, able to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Desirable Experience:
- Familiarity with EMC or military standards (e.g. MIL-STD, Def-Stan)
- Background in electronics, electrical engineering, physics or similar
- Experience working with environmental or compliance testing facilities
