We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Blaster to join our clients team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely and effectively performing blasting operations in various industrial and construction environments. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical processes, the use of hand and power tools, and adherence to safety protocols. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in fabrication, welding, or warehouse experience to develop their skills further within a dynamic organisation.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare blasting materials and set up equipment according to project specifications
  • Operate blasting tools and machinery safely, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to support various project activities
  • Measure and calculate materials or distances using basic maths skills to ensure precise application of blasting procedures
  • Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to safety standards at all times
  • Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and accurately
  • Conduct routine inspections of tools and equipment, reporting any issues promptly

Qualifications

  • Mechanical knowledge with experience in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
  • Previous warehouse experience or construction painting background is advantageous
  • Familiarity with fabrication, assembly, and basic maths calculations relevant to blasting operations
  • Ability to work safely in potentially hazardous environments while following strict safety protocols
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Prior experience in construction or industrial settings is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
