This role is working for our Electrification and Automation team for Siemens Smart Infrastructure. Responsible for delivery of protection application, design, configuration and testing for customers in the UK and Ireland.

Location: This role is based at our Hebburn office (Northeast of the UK).

You'll make a difference by:

  • Delivery experience of protection application on transmission and distribution networks in different voltage levels.
  • Application knowledge of protection devices for different protection schemes with experience in standard communication protocols e.g. IEC61850, GOOSE, IEC-103 etc.
  • Configuration of protection relays including the design and configuration of relay programmable logic for different protection schemes.
  • Production of test documentation (test sheets) for FAT testing and attend site where necessary to carry out FAT/SAT/Training.
  • Responsible for attending technical meetings with client to ensure technical compliance.
  • Work closely with the project engineers to ensure jobs are completed on schedule.
  • Experience/knowledge of protection product range of different OEM's an advantage.

You're excited to build on your existing expertise, including:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering.
  • Knowledge of Siprotec 4/5 and Reyrolle devices, Digsi4/5, Reydisp and secondary Injection Testing using PONOVO or OMICRON test kit preferred.
  • Strong mathematical skills in High Voltage Power system calculations, Programming Language skills e.g. CFC and proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
