We are currently recruiting for a reliable and caring First Aid Support Assistant to work on a full-time basis within a welcoming school in the S.Shields area, starting immediately. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with an existing First Aid qualification who is confident supporting students and staff with minor injuries, illness, and day-to-day medical needs within a busy school environment. Previous school experience is desirable but not essential. This role does not require a qualified nurse or medical professional background.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing basic first aid treatment to students and staff
  • Administering prescribed medication in line with school procedures
  • Monitoring and recording student visits to the medical room
  • Supporting pupils who feel unwell or require short‑term care
  • Liaising with parents/carers where required
  • Maintaining first aid supplies and medical records
  • Ensuring safeguarding and health & safety procedures are followed at all times

The Ideal Candidate Will

  • Hold a valid First Aid qualification (essential)
  • Be calm, approachable, and organised
  • Have strong communication and record‑keeping skills
  • Be able to deal with sensitive situations professionally
