ISQ Recruitment is supporting a well-established commercial vehicle operation in Pontefract with the recruitment of an experienced HGV Truck Technician to join their technical team. This is a great opportunity for a skilled HGV Technician who enjoys working on heavy goods vehicles, trailers and fleet vehicles in a busy, professional workshop environment. You will be responsible for carrying out safe, compliant and high-quality maintenance, helping to keep customer vehicles on the road. The role would suit a qualified technician with experience in commercial vehicle maintenance, diagnostics and repairs, who is looking for a long-term opportunity with ongoing training, overtime availability and strong development support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out major and minor repairs on heavy goods vehicles, trailers and other fleet vehicles
  • Complete regular inspections and preventative maintenance
  • Carry out servicing work including general maintenance tasks
  • Diagnose faults and support repair planning with the wider workshop team
  • Identify worn or faulty components in line with DVSA standards
  • Maintain accurate records of vehicles repaired or handled
  • Complete relevant paperwork, job cards and warranty documentation
  • Escalate technical or warranty-related issues where required
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop environment
  • Support roadside or emergency repair work where required
Candidate Requirements
  • Level 3 qualification in HGV Vehicle Repair and Maintenance, such as NVQ, City & Guilds or IMI
  • Previous experience as an HGV Technician, Truck Technician or Commercial Vehicle Technician
  • Strong knowledge of servicing, inspections, diagnostics and repairs
  • Ability to identify worn and faulty components in line with DVSA standards
  • Full UK driving licence, ideally with relevant vehicle classes
  • Reliable, organised and able to work well as part of a team
  • Strong focus on safety, compliance and quality workmanship
Working Hours

4 on 4 off shift pattern, working either:

  • Days: 06:00 - 18:00
  • Nights: 18:00 - 06:00
