Immediate start required (1 week acceptable). Are you an experienced health and safety professional? Are you available for a 6 month fixed term contract? Do you have manufacturing and/or medical/pharmaceutical experience?
Principal Objectives
- Deliver & maintain a compliant & safe working environment; fulfill all current legislation across all shift patterns. This is for multiple sites from Widnes to Southport.
- Deliver & continuously improve Health & Safety standards, procedures & policies required by ISO14001 & OHSAS18001.
- Deliver, develop, assess, and improve a Risk Management Approach to each process flow & all activities in all departments.
- Ownership of all H&S records, including their organization & upkeep. This is for all sites.
- Ownership for safety prevention; proactive approach to develop & deliver effective Near Miss processes.
- Ownership for the effective management of incidents as required, associated paperwork, & completion of any corrective/preventative actions.
- Ensure monthly reports & statistics are generated to show how each department (& the business units as a whole) are performing.
- Ensure all legislation is met for all processes.
- Support Leadership & Project Teams in the time specific delivery & control of new/modified processes, and/or machinery installations using the defined Change Control Process.
- Continuous improvement of all processes to proactively comply with changes to HSE guidelines; where appropriate train, support & enforce.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all risk assessments are carried out & maintained.
- Maintain, organize & update as required all H&S records.
- Ownership of all contractors and permit to work completion.
- Senior leadership team member, attend & conduct meetings as required.
- Accurately review & present agreed KPI's showing the business H&S status.
- Develop daily, weekly & monthly safety audit processes to ensure our high standards are maintained & the site remains compliant with current legislation.
- Control the process of all Site waste streams, ensuring all safety, quality and environmental compliance criteria are met.
- Control & report on all H&S expenditure, ensuring all spend is within approved budgetary limits.
- Site Induction: Conduct Site safety inductions for all employees and contractors.
- Responsible for ensuring all Permit to Work and Contractor Controls are accurate and are being followed.
