Overview
TeacherActive is working with a brand-new SEMH school based in the B12 area of Birmingham, looking to appoint an experienced Headteacher. The school will provide a safe, inclusive and ambitious environment for students with social, emotional and mental health needs, with a clear focus on outstanding outcomes, safeguarding and positive behaviour.
Responsibilities
- The successful Headteacher will be responsible for shaping the curriculum, leading safeguarding, developing staff, meeting Independent School Standards and driving the school towards the highest possible Ofsted outcomes.
Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- At least three years experience as a senior leader within special education or the independent sector
- Strong knowledge of SEMH, safeguarding, child protection and the Independent School Standards
- Experience of curriculum development, assessment, quality assurance and school improvement planning
- Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop staff teams
- Excellent communication skills, resilience and a clear commitment to securing outstanding student outcomes
