Key Machine Minder Responsibilities

  • Set up, start, and operate automated production equipment to meet daily output and quality standards.
  • Complete start-up and routine checks to ensure machinery is safe and running to specification.
  • Monitor machine performance during production, making adjustments to maintain efficiency and consistency.
  • Work closely with shift supervision to coordinate breaks, changeovers, and workflow.
  • Identify equipment faults and assist with basic diagnostics alongside the engineering team.
  • Escalate mechanical or technical issues promptly to reduce downtime.
  • Maintain clear and accurate shift handovers to ensure operational continuity.
  • Keep machinery and work areas clean, organised, and compliant with site standards.
  • Carry out cleaning tasks in line with documented procedures.
  • Support the training of colleagues once fully competent in the role.
  • Develop capability across additional equipment and processes as required.
  • Follow all health, safety, and site procedures without exception.

Required Machine Minder Experience

  • Previous experience operating machinery in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong awareness of health & safety and quality requirements.
  • Ability to monitor performance, identify issues, and respond effectively.
  • Good communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
  • Strong attention to detail with a practical problem-solving mindset.
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
