Location: Hatfield

Salary: Up to £60,000 per year + Bonus + Company Vehicle

Contract: Permanent / Full Time

Shift: Monday to Friday (Hours will need to cover early starts and late starts)

We are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Workshop Manager to join a commercial fleet operation based in Hatfield maintaining truck and trailer in house fleet plus some additional 3rd party work. The workshop is a 4 bay workshop and operational 24/7 with Technicians working day and night shifts.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily running of the workshop, managing a team of 8 staff members, with further recruitment planned as the business grows. You will oversee the maintenance and repair of the customers internal fleet of trucks and trailers, as well as some third-party workshop work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day workshop operations
  • Supervise and support workshop staff
  • Plan workloads and ensure efficient productivity
  • Oversee maintenance and repair of HGVs and trailers
  • Maintain compliance, health & safety, and workshop standards
  • Coordinate third-party work where required
  • Support both day and night shift operations

Working Hours

Monday to Friday. Flexibility is required, as hours will rotate between early and late shifts to support both day and night teams.

Requirements

  • Previous workshop management experience
  • Strong knowledge of commercial vehicles, HGVs, and trailers
  • Excellent leadership and organisational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and team management skills
