Our client is a well-established precision engineering company specialising in the machining of commercial-grade and exotic materials for a range of high-specification industries including aerospace, automotive, marine, and brewery sectors. From initial consultation and design through to the finished product, they pride themselves on delivering high-quality precision components to customers across multiple industries.
Due to continued growth, our client is looking to recruit an experienced CNC Fixed Head Turner Programmer to join their expanding machining team in Harlow. This position would suit a skilled engineer with strong programming experience using Mazak Smooth controls and a background in precision machining. Both day and night shift positions are available.
Key Responsibilities- Programming, setting and operating CNC Fixed Head Turning machines
- Working with Mazak Smooth controls
- Manufacturing precision components to tight tolerances
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Selecting appropriate tooling and offsets
- Inspecting finished components using measuring equipment
- Ensuring consistent quality standards are maintained
- Working independently and as part of a skilled engineering team
- Supporting continuous improvement within the machining department
- Previous experience programming CNC Fixed Head Lathes
- Strong knowledge of Mazak Smooth controls
- Ability to work from engineering drawings
- Experience machining a variety of materials including exotic alloys
- Good understanding of tolerances and quality procedures
- Ability to self-inspect components
- Aerospace or high-precision engineering experience would be advantageous
