Job Description
- Lead the strategic planning and delivery of highways services, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
- Oversee the management and maintenance of assets and highways infrastructure across the area.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure efficient service delivery.
- Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines within the public sector.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on highways-related matters to senior management.
- Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in highways operations.
- Manage annual budgets for Highways (c. £5M) and capital works (c. £10M) effectively.
The Successful Applicant
- Proven leadership experience in highways management within the public sector and government or a related industry.
- Strong knowledge of highways legislation, policies, and best practices.
- The ability to understand issues and their impact on the community and how best to tackle them effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Excellent leadership and decision-making skills with a proven ability to take the lead.
- Experience in budget management and financial oversight.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Degree in a relevant area or equivalent experience.
